Avoiding the Bad Credit the Second Time
It is a classic case of once bitten, twice shy. No one in this world would want to get him or herself into that ignominious, traumatic situation the second time. As such, the bad credit remarks are going to last for 7 years in your credit report, no matter what you do, unless you legally prove that they are wrong entries there. A bankruptcy remains on your credit report for 10 years. The disturbed life, the clipped wings of your otherwise free life and a host of last opportunities because of poor credit scores and bad credit reports will have taken much of your prime life by the time you improve your credit. But don’t forget the invaluable lesson this life has taught you through.
“It Is Only Human To Want To Fly Free”
Once you are out of the bad credit basket, it feels like you have earned the freedom of life. Naturally all humans, including those who had just found economic freedom, would tend to forget the financial ordeal they spent. But, the second the bad credit slap may not be kind to you as the first one, since your responsibilities and commitments will have grown leaps and bounds but you have less time left out in your earning life.
Take a Lesson from Your First Brush with Bad Credit Report and Poor Credit Score
Look back in retrospect how the years have passed. You must have controlled a lot of ambitions and desires just to serve the debts.
You may have
* Suppressed desires to go to beaches, changing cars frequently, parties etc just to save more
* Worked hard and overnight including weekends to earn more; and considered additional part time jobs too.
* Paid monthly bills on time to avoid further tightening from creditors and lenders
* Realized your importance to family
* Repositioned your life’s goals
There are not many examples of second time bad credits, perhaps because the first brush disciplines many of them.
1. Set alarms on your cell phones well before each payment.
2. Avoid high cost loans that ultimately boomerang on you.
3. Take utmost care of your credit cards and personal information.
4. Save more and regularly for the rainy day.
5. Don’t get into ventures which are not your core area of competence.
6. Plan in advance to avoid last minute high cost on almost anything.
Devise any plan that suits your circumstances and family’s.
